To be honest, from an individual perspective, it might feel a little unfortunate that IU has been nominated three times without a win yet, but her competition each time was way too strong….
Still, since she’s consistently nominated, it seems like it’s only a matter of time before she wins
1. In the 2020 lineup, Hotel Del Luna really stands out on its own… Baeksang has actually been consistently generous toward her. If IU got nominated while actresses like Lim Jiyeon and Park Shinhye didn’t make the cut, her fans should recognize that she’s been lucky and stay humble, considering her acting level. But instead, her fans have been complaining for years about not winning anything. She obviously can’t go after Kim Taeri, so she lashes out over variety shows instead, spiraling into a meltdown. Watching her fans talk like she deserves the Baeksang or something is just absurd, it’s not like this is a music award
2. For real, IU is not of that level…….. The projects here and the other actresses mentioned should make her fans feel embarrassed instead… what’s wrong with them?
3. Let’s say she wasn’t IU the singer, but just Lee Jieun, a rookie actress starting out with minor roles. Do you really think she would’ve even been cast in those projects to begin with? Is her acting really at that level? I really wish people would stop creating fake antis just to defend her.
4. Compared to her actual acting skills, she has the image of someone who gets high-quality scripts thanks to her name as a singer, especially after My Mister. Since then, it feels like the industry has been throwing top-tier scripts and directors at her hoping one will stick, like Kore-eda and others, giving her love that’s honestly more than she deserves. Her acting isn’t bad, but it’s not outstanding either, just passable. Honestly, if she’d started out purely as an actress, she probably wouldn’t have made it to lead roles. When you consider that actresses like Park Shinhye or Lim Jiyeon weren’t even nominated, it shows IU’s always been treated generously when it comes to nominations. Baeksang isn’t the kind of award that hands things out to everyone. It’s common for strong nominees to walk away empty-handed. But it’s like some people think this is just another one of those drama awards from the big three networks. Maybe they should focus on popularity awards instead, since those turn into macro battles anyway
5. I can understand that being a singer and an actress are both her job. Her acting is fine. But it’s not good to the point that it’s giving me goosebumps
6. The fact that Lim Jiyeon wasn’t even nominated for The Tale of Lady Ok… let’s have some shame here…
7. The fact that Hotel Del Luna was nominated is impressiveㅋ
8. Her fans should be thankful that she’s even nominated…
9. Shouldn’t she be honored to even be nominated? Hotel Del Luna??ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
10. Come to think of it, at this year’s Baeksang, both Lim Jiyeon and Park Shinhye had female lead roles but still didn’t get nominated. Yet Kim Hyeyoon and IU did. That really shows how strong the buff is for some people. Actors or fans should just be thankful for that kind of support. But turning around and acting like it’s unfair or like they’ve been wronged? It’s seriously not it.. If we’re being objective, looking at the acting, the overall quality and weight of the dramas, Lim Jiyeon and Park Shinhye probably deserved nominations more.
