Song Joongki’s film BogotA: The Land of Last Chances is struggling at the box office.
According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated computer network as of January 7, BogotA: The Land of Last Chances (directed by Kim Seong-je), which premiered on December 31, has only attracted 336,348 cumulative viewers.
Despite being a new release, it has been overshadowed by earlier releases such as Harbin (directed by Woo Min-ho) and The Firefighters (directed by Kwak Kyung-taek), currently ranking third in the box office.
Additionally, Hopeless (directed by Kim Chang-hoon), which was released in October 2023, only garnered 260,000 cumulative viewers, marking Song Joongki’s second consecutive box office failure.
1. But then, he’ll probably get a hit one day. It’s not a big deal if he has a flop or two and I don’t feel that bad for him either…
2. Please film a drama instead of movies. I’m tired of watching movies lately..
3. But Song Joongki never really was a hit actor to begin with… If you look at his representative works, there’s only A Werewolf Boy
4. Aside from A Werewolf Boy, Song Joongki has never had a popular movie. I feel like he’s only picking roles that don’t suit him
5. Because of his image, I don’t really wanna see him anymore
6. Korean people’s standards have gone up so we’re not in a generation where people watch a movie just because of a particular actor anymore. I feel like the film industry is in an emergency situation
7. His dramas are doing fine but I feel like his movies are just not doing it
8. He has no eye for picking a good plot
9. Song Joongki looked pretty in both movies so I wish that his likability would go up. I feel like the image that he’s going for is fine but he has no discerning eye
10. He has always been bad movie-wise
