On the 22nd (local time), the members of NewJeans expressed their stance through the U.S. weekly magazine Time, saying, “We don’t expect the issues in the K-pop industry to change overnight,” and “Compared to what we’ve experienced so far, this is just another step in our journey.”

They continued, “This may be the current reality of Korea. It’s why we believe change and growth are necessary,” adding, “It seems that Korea wants to make us revolutionaries.”

Their agency, ADOR, also stated through Time, “The misunderstanding can be completely resolved if the members return to the label.” ADOR emphasized, “Our goal is not to hinder the artists’ careers, but to allow them to continue working in accordance with their existing contracts.”
