Kim Saeron’s aunt’s claim

Kim Saeron and Kim Soohyun were in a relationship for six years. When Kim Soohyun established his company, Gold Medalist, Kim Saeron had many offers from other agencies but chose to join his company. While there, she reportedly worked hard as if it were her own company — helping with directing and even giving acting guidance to rookie actors without pay.

After Kim Saeron’s drunk driving accident, when compensation claims were filed against her, Kim Soohyun reportedly lent her 700 million KRW. According to her aunt, Kim Soohyun never asked for a repayment deadline. Kim Saeron once told her aunt while driving that she used the money Kim Soohyun lent her to pay off the damages and that although he never demanded repayment, she intended to pay him back by working hard.

Some time after the incident had settled, a certified letter regarding the 700 million KRW was sent to Kim Saeron. At that point, Kim Saeron had already paid off all her penalties and compensation fees, leaving her with no money. Receiving that letter reportedly made her break down in tears.

Her aunt claimed that Kim Soohyun’s cousin (referred to as “Irobae,” who co-manages the company) was likely the one behind the certified letter. Kim Saeron attempted to call Kim Soohyun directly to confirm if he had actually sent the letter himself, but he didn’t answer. She also tried calling him from her cousin’s phone, but he still didn’t pick up. Later, reporters contacted her cousin’s phone, asking if it was Kim Saeron’s number.

Feeling desperate with no way to contact him, her aunt said they decided to release the photo online in hopes that Kim Soohyun would reach out.

Separate from this, her aunt mentioned that each time YouTuber Lee Jin-ho discussed Kim Saeron in his content, news articles followed. Kim Saeron reportedly struggled emotionally, to the point where her family had to stay on 24-hour watch. Her cousin stayed by her side to support her.

A few days before Kim Saeron passed away, she stayed at her aunt’s house. Her aunt recalled Kim Saeron noticing how thin she had gotten and encouraging her to stay strong. Despite her own mental struggles, Kim Saeron insisted on cooking fried rice for her aunt, which her aunt tearfully described as “the last meal Saeron made for me.” She remembered Kim Saeron as a kind person who cared for her even during her own difficult time.
