Actor Ryu Jun-yeol is currently on a “national trial” for accusations of “transit love” – breaking up with lover then immediately moving on. 

As the “jury” to this “trial”, the public has basically deemed Ryu Jun-yeol as guilty. The basis of their judgment is several circulating online photos and Hyeri’s apology letter.

On the other hand, regarding the status of their relationship, Hyeri published a status saying, “Last November, articles about our relationship were published. It wasn’t a decision made hastily, and even after the breakup articles came out, we had discussions about talking more. However, we haven’t had any contact or meetings since that conversation.” 

While the apology implied that she wants everything to end, Hyeri’s mention of “talking more” has actually ignited Ryu Jun-yeol’s “transit love” controversy.

So, what is the true timeline of the breakup, is it truly as Hyeri said? TV Daily has met with various insiders to garner a detailed and accurate view of Ryu Jun-yeol and Hyeri’s relationship in 2023. 

In particular, according to a person close to the couple, Ryu Jun-yeol and Hyeri met only once after discussing their separation last year. They were just postponing the announcement of their separation, and both knew the breakup was coming.

Additionally, the couple had a break in February last year, when they decided to “take some time to think about each other”, effectively ending their relationship. Hyeri was filming a movie faraway at the time, and the two drifted apart.

In June, Ryu Jun-yeol and Hyeri’s breakup became a public secret. When Ryu Jun-yeol didn’t show up on Hyeri’s birthday, rumors intensified. Speculations peaked in July and August and reporters began investigating the breakup.

The couple’s close associate explained to TV Daily, “Ryu Jun-yeol and Hyeri didn’t give a clear answer to the public. Isn’t that typical in most long-term relationships? It would have been difficult for them to officially acknowledge their breakup, considering their long history.”

Ryu Jun-yeol is under fire because of Hyeri’s words. However, according to insiders, Hyeri’s “talking more” is more like “let’s start anew as acquaintances and keep in touch” instead of “let’s wait for each other”. 

From Hyeri’s perspective, it might be frustrating. Ryu Jun-yeol started a new relationship “too quickly” (roughly 4 months after the breakup). 

However, current criticism is hard to accept. 

Regarding Hyeri’s “interesting” story, Hyeri and Ryu Jun-yeol;s closest friends recalled that the couple liked Hawaii and enjoyed their time together, adding that the story probably doesn’t imply anything. 

All in all, TV Daily believes that Ryu Jun-yeol and Han So-hee’s relationship isn’t a scandal. From Hyeri’s “Interesting story” to Han So-hee’s “puppy knife story”, nothing is at the level of societal controversies, but rather just wild imaginations and speculations.

Hyeri surely knows that there was no problem with her breakup, and that there’s no issue with Ryu Jun-yeol’s new start either. Every “wrong” element just comes from the imagination of fans.
