[theqoo] [TWICE] STRONG WARNING AND LEGAL ACTIONS AGAINST STALKING THE ARTIST

Recently, certain individuals have been sending letters indiscriminately, which contain inappropriate content and photos based on delusions, and continue to hover around the workplace, residential areas, and other surroundings of TWICE members. This is causing serious mental distress and anxiety, not only for the artist but also for those around them. As a result, we have taken steps to enhance security measures to ensure the safety and well-being of our artist and are closely monitoring the situation.

According to the Stalking Crimes Punishment Act, any act of waiting or observing the location where the other person usually lives or its vicinity, or using mail, phone calls, etc., to send objects, letters, pictures, or images against the other person’s will is considered ‘stalking.’ Therefore, repeatedly sending letters with content that causes distress and discomfort, and wandering around the artist’s living area against their will, clearly constitutes ‘stalking’ under the law. Such actions can be severely punished according to this law.

We would like to once again strongly emphasize that these actions are clearly against the artist’s will.

In relation to this, if the individual does not immediately cease such ‘stalking’ behavior, we will take all possible legal actions with the utmost severity, without any leniency or settlement.

We would like to express our gratitude to the fans who always cherish and support TWICE. We will continue to do our best to protect our artists.
