[theqoo] “WHY DID YOU ONLY LEAVE OUT LISA?” THAI FANS, SEND PERSONAL ATTACKS TO DIRECTOR BONG JOONHO… FROWN

Director Bong Joonho has come under fire from some of the most vocal Thai fans of girl group Blackpink’s Lisa.

On March 3, the YouTube channel BuzzFeed Celebrity posted a video of an interview with the director. In the video, the director answered “Blackpink” when asked about his favorite K-pop group, and when asked about his favorite members, he said “Rose, Jisoo, and Jennie” before adding “Everyone.” 

However, after the interview was published, some Thai fans complained that Bong Joonho was racist. “You know Blackpink but you don’t know Lisa? Is it because she’s a foreigner?” and “He didn’t say Lisa at all, he doesn’t like her,” wrote a foreigner in Korean. In addition, X (formerly Twitter) had a number of personal attacks on director Bong Joonho, accusing him of racism, which is frowned upon.

The thing that Lisa’s dans did: call him fat, say that he has small eyes, insult Koreans and make personal attacks. 

Who is the one hating, criticizing and being racist here?

7. At the Academy’s special stage, she got a free pass with “boyfriend privilege” and lip-syncing, but they stay completely silent about it. Meanwhile, Koreans are treated like a punching bagㅋㅋㅋ
