ADOR, the agency representing NewJeans, has appointed four new legal representatives.
According to reporting by MyDaily on the 12th, ADOR recently retained four attorneys from Law Firm Rihan and immediately submitted a request to change the court hearing date.
Previously, the five attorneys from Kim & Chang who had been representing ADOR all filed notices of resignation on April 24. The newly appointed Law Firm Rihan is currently handling the defense of Bang Si-hyuk in a case involving alleged violations of South Korea’s Capital Markets Act.
The Seoul Central District Court is scheduled to hold the first formal hearing at 3:10 p.m. on the 14th, where both sides’ arguments will be officially reviewed. This will be the first full trial approximately two months after the preliminary hearing held on March 26.
ADOR, which has been involved in an exclusive contract dispute with the members of NewJeans, filed a lawsuit last December seeking termination of its exclusive contract with Danielle along with damages amounting to roughly 43 billion won. ADOR claims that Danielle’s side and former CEO Min Heejin bear significant responsibility for NewJeans’ departure and delays in their return activities, and says it intends to pursue legal accountability.
The case is currently being heard by the Civil Agreement Division 31 of the Seoul Central District Court, presided over by Chief Judge Nam In-soo, the same court division that previously ruled in favor of former CEO Min Heejin in the first trial concerning her put-option dispute with HYBE.
In addition, the Seoul Central District Court approved ADOR’s request for provisional seizure of real estate assets belonging to Danielle’s mother and Min Heejin on February 2. The total claim amount is reportedly 7 billion won, with real estate assets frozen up to 2 billion won for Danielle’s mother and up to 5 billion won for Min Heejin.
1. HYBE really needs to pay for their crimes
2. Why are they treating only one person like that? It’s terrible. Who would want to work at that company?
3. Look at them bullying a kid. A malicious company like that is raising the country’s top idols? This is the ridiculous reality we live in ㅋ
4. They said they would make them leave altogether, but accepting four of them and pinning the entire blame on one much younger foreign girl is just so pathetic
5. This is such bullying
6. Is there no way to extend the period? What is this? It’s blatant har**sment
7. Where is your conscience with all this talk about women? Who is it that has been relentlessly tormenting only women?
8. They said they wanted to promote NewJeans as soon as possible and that they’d manage them well, so why not compromise a little and have her join, or wrap up the lawsuit faster?
9. They said they’d promote NewJeans right away and care for them…
10.This is the worst case of a company bullying their idols I’ve seen
