[theqoo][EXCLUSIVE] NEWJEANS HYEIN’S FATHER IS THE ONLY PARENT WHO OPPOSED THE ‘EXCLUSIVE CONTRACT TERMINATION LAWSUIT’

On the 4th, a report came out stating that one of the parents of a member of the girl group ‘NewJeans’ appeared to be opposed to the ‘exclusive contract termination lawsuit’ against Ador. Following this, rumors spread that it was Haerin’s mother who opposed the lawsuit. However, after an investigation by this outlet, it was revealed that it was not Haerin, but Hyein’s father who opposed the lawsuit. It was also discovered that he had even engaged in a civil lawsuit with his wife over the issue of being the legal representative of his daughter.

Earlier, Chosun Ilbo reported that “During the first hearing of the main lawsuit (confirmation of the validity of the exclusive contract) filed by Ador against NewJeans members on April 3rd, the presiding judge (Seoul Central District Court Civil Division 41) asked the defendants, ‘Is it true that the family court has made a decision regarding the exercise of parental rights, and that all the actions in this lawsuit have been approved so far?'”

In response, Chosun Ilbo noted, “Among the NewJeans members, Hyein and Haerin are the only minors,” and interpreted the situation as follows: “There seems to have been a difference of opinion regarding the exercise of parental rights for one of these members, and this issue appears to have been resolved through a court decision.”

Chosun Ilbo also mentioned that during the inquiry regarding the preservation of agency status on March 7th, the court pointed out that “the issue of the legal representative needs to be clarified, as there is a flaw in the current authority to represent.” The newspaper interpreted this as meaning that the parents could not agree on the termination of the exclusive contract, and the court had to address this issue.

It was then speculated online, based on the court records, that “‘Defendant 4’ refers to Haerin,” leading to the assumption that “one of Haerin’s parents seems to be opposing the lawsuit.”

However, further investigation by New Daily revealed that it was actually Hyein’s father, A, who expressed opposition to the lawsuit against Ador.

Currently, NewJeans, which is continuing its activities under the team name ‘NJZ’, has been in a dispute with their agency, Ador, over their exclusive contract since November of last year.

While it is unclear exactly what A’s position was when NewJeans notified Ador of their intent to terminate the contract on November 29th, it seems that initially, he shared the same stance as the other parents and the members.

However, at some point,  A changed his position and opposed the contract termination, eventually leading to a legal battle with his wife, B, over the qualification to represent Hyein.

In the court case regarding the exercise of parental rights filed by B against A on the 14th of last month, the court ruled in favor of B, meaning that in any future related lawsuits, B will be the only one listed as Hyein’s legal representative.

1. The only normal person

2. But it’s way too late to do all that

3. So they treasure Min Heejin more than their family???

4. I don’t know about the others, but Hyein is way too young (she’s a 08’er… And she debuted at 15) It feels a bit harsh to scold her for her own will. At that age, the opinions of the people around her are probably more impactful than what her parents say… ㅠㅠㅠ

5. No matter what you do, it’s already too late. Go ahead and have your revolution, just leave K-pop alone

6. Too ate

7. This is honestly so cruel. How can you expose a minor’s family matters like that?

8. Hyein is 16 y’o guys….

9. The more I’m looking at it, the more I feel like she’ll become Keena from FIFTY FIFTY, she just needs more courage..

10. It’s still a relief if one of them leaves…
