Above: THE BOYZ’s 2024 title track music video
Below: Stray Kids’ 2026 pre-release music video
“Shocking”
It looks even more identical in the video.
Filmed and directed at the same location, and the makeup is similar too.
If you watch the music video, you’ll see even more similar scenes
What’s surprising is that both are directed by Son Seung-hee of High Quality Fish…
People are reacting with disbelief, saying it’s absurd that such a famous director would simply copy a music video by another idol that was released not long ago
original post: here
1. But they are from the same director? Isn’t this director way too lazy then?
2. Does that mean it’s not plagiarism just because it’s the same director? They used the exact same elements in another group’s MV, and what’s the point of claiming that something used by a previous group was actually meant for a later one? Also, if all the music videos are directed by the same person, do they all end up looking that similar? They turned out that way because they were asked to make them similar. Seriously, major agencies just look at the work of mid-to-small-sized idols and copy it exactly, they have absolutely no conscience
3. Stray Kids are popular overseas so even if it was plagiarism, there will be no controversies. Only The Boyz’ side are mad
4. I think even self-plagiarism counts as plagiarism. What’s up with this director?
5. If it’s the same director, what’s the big deal? It’s a different group, after allㅋㅋㅋ
6. If it’s the same director, then it’s whatever..
7. Crazy, what is this?
8. That director is f*cking lazy and irresponsible…
9. That’s the director’s issue. They looked exactly the same, so I got off thinking they were the same one, and then I was caught off guard at the end
10. Seems like they can’t be using that director anymore
